As a former teacher and sales manager for one of the larger educational publishing houses, I recently visited a small regional IT exhibition and realised that there is a growing problem at the interface between publishers and schools, caused by the increasing pressures on teacher's time and energy.
In an effort to make life a bit simpler for teachers and publishers, I concluded that a website dedicated to making it easy for teachers to order inspection copies, approval copies and free stuff from a variety of publishers would be a tremendous step forwards, freeing up the time required to search through lots of catalogues, fill in forms for each one and so on.
I am grateful to the many people who have helped me put this project together, particularly the team at Melted Media who have grasped the website idea and developed the site so assiduously, the many teachers I discussed the idea with and of course the publishers who support the site.
I hope teachers will find inspectioncopy.co.uk to be useful and efficient. If you have comments (good or bad) please let me know, as the success or otherwise of the site hangs on the quality of service it provides.
